Jeffrey (Jeff) joined our company in 2023 to add his breadth of experience in science, engineering, and business management to our team. His career of over 25 years has involved operations engineering, design engineering in various realms, manufacturing and operations management, biomedical science and product development, project management, and executive management.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering Systems (Magna Cum Laude) from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, where he also earned a USCG license to serve as an engineer in the Merchant Marine. Jeff also holds a Master of Science in Bioengineering from Arizona State University, as well as a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Tufts University. While at Tufts, Jeff was awarded the Chair of Biomedical Engineering Fellowship, as well as Young Researcher of the Year (2011) by the International Symposium on Ligaments and Tendons for his original research on engineering these tissues.

Jeff began his career as a Nuclear Engineering Officer in the US. Navy. Following active duty service, he worked as Lead Design Engineer for a mechanical engineering consulting firm. After gaining an interest in the biological sciences and going back for advanced degrees in biomedical engineering, Jeff returned to the front range and took a mechanical engineering position for a medical device design, development, and manufacturing company. There, he was promoted to Operations Manager and oversaw the development and manufacture of dozens of medical devices. Prior to joining Compass Consulting Engineers, Jeff was Senior Scientist at a human tissue bank, where he and others launched a start-up biologics firm specializing in the manufacture of various stem cells, collagen, and other biomaterials derived from donated human tissue. As VP of Research & Development, Jeff and his team spearheaded product development and business development efforts, as well as leading military, academic, and industry collaborations here in the USA and around the world. We are excited to have Jeff join our team.

Jeff spends as much of his free time as possible with his two children. He also enjoys gardening, cooking, making homemade liqueurs, writing, and staying active. As a native Coloradan, his favorite traditions include ski holidays and road trips with his kids.
