This animation illustrates the events leading up to a ski accident in which two skiers collide, injuring one of the parties. Both skiers were traversing across the hill in the same direction, with one skier above the other. One skier was blind in one eye, was listening to music with ear buds, and had Ski Tracks GPS tracking application on his cell phone. The GPS data for this skier showed he took a hard right turn approximately 2 seconds before they collided. Our engineers were engaged to reconstruct the accident and ultimately determined which skier had the right-of-way. Using the Ski Tracks GPS data, our LIDAR scene inspection data, and our review of the recorded testimonies, the sequence of events leading to the collision was established, the right-of-way related to the two skiers determined, and causation of the accident identified.
